IAPPM are pleased to announce the formation of the local Ottawa area chapter (the National Capital chapter), under the leadership of Arnie Francis, CPM, CBM. Arnie has spent the last 25 years in leadership positions in both the management and the consulting fields. He has been most actively engaged in consulting, audit and review projects. His portfolio of work includes information management and technology implementation, organizational security, human resources and strategic governance and risk management initiatives. Arnie also has much practical experience as a reviewer of important federal government programs, such as the National Native Drug and Alcohol Abuse Program, the Year 2000 Business Continuity Program and the Conflict of Interest Program. At the organizational level, he has been involved in initiatives such as the Learning and Development Program, departmental Security Programs and Grants & Contributions.
For over a decade now Arnie has run his own independent consulting company, Francis Consulting, working closely with other highly effective professionals in and around Ottawa, as well as across Canada. As you would expect, Arnie leads a busy life with family commitments and volunteer roles in the community. In addition to the CPM, Arnie maintains the Certified Business Manager (CBM) certification, has the ITIL Foundations certificate, holds an undergraduate degree in Economics and is active in the local ISACA Chapter.
He is excited about working to make the IAPPM's CPM a certification of distinction for project and program professionals in the Ottawa area. The National Capital Region is where public and private sector engagement intersect to fuel the successful delivery of national, regional and local projects and programs. A large and active project community includes several hundred project and program managers within the federal public service, the technology sector, the military and the property management cadre. The National Capital chapter will strive to:
- Strengthen awareness of the CPM certification and growth in IAPPM membership within the National Capital Region
- Assist with local projects and inquiries
