| The Middle East region
of IAPPM is expanding at an incredible rate and the
ability of this region to train prospective leaders
in project management is just fantastic. Jordan is
our cornerstone for training Project
Managers using modern tools, methods and techniques
within the desired objectives, time, cost and
quality. As a result, some of the local contracting
enterprises have started to see improved results due
to training their members. Especially in the Middle
East, it is key to understand that PM's need to properly perform their
duties concerning the rules, specifications and
deadlines of the projects awarded to them. Also,
local contractors are unable to compete for large
projects without foreign joint ventures. The need of
proper PM knowledge, training and education is
critically needed to help Middle East countries
upgrade their management capabilities to utilize
available resources toward successful public as well
private projects.
Mr. Abdul Qader Al-Nazli
In Jordan, almost half of the working force in the public
sector companies are educated which represent a
solid base for better usage and implementation of
the PM techniques. However, the lack of knowledge of
these techniques is still an obstacle. IAPPM
–Middle East is highly committed to drive the
needed change in the PM field in Jordan as well as
the whole Middle East – Gulf region.
IAPPM-Middle East launched its operations through
establishing the regional office and partnering with
Modern Managers Consulting & professional
Training as the sole provider of the PM Educational
and Training in the region. The Jordanian Chapter
started its activities in promoting IAPPM vision,
mission and membership. Within 2 weeks from official
establishment of Jordan Chapter, the number of IAPPM
members increased from 3 to 25, with increasing
demand on the CPM certification as well. The
campaign is still on the soft stage which will turn
into grand stage effective Jan 2005 in the whole
region. IAPPM Middle East regional office received
excellent feedback regarding IAPPM participation
plans to develop the PM from both public as well as
private sectors.
